Two drive-thru Disaster Recovery Centers are opening this week in Eunice and Kinder. The centers will be staffed with personnel from FEMA. The FEMA staff members will scan documents, help with registration, and answer questions about disaster assistance programs.
Each center will adhere to strict COVID-19 protocols to ensure visitors are safe. Anyone who enters is required to wear a mask or face cover. Storm survivors will stay in their vehicles. The FEMA specialist will receive documents through the window and return them.
No appointment is necessary. The hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.
The drive-thru centers are located at:
Word Ministry Church Parking Lot
1960 W. Laurel Ave,
Eunice, LA 70535
Coushatta Casino
777 Coushatta Drive
Kinder, LA 70648
Storm survivors may visit any open center.
To locate the closest center, call the FEMA Helpline, visit www.DisasterAssistance.gov or egateway.fema.gov/ESF6/DRCLocator, or download the FEMA Mobile App at fema.gov/about/news-multimedia/app.
Survivors do not need to visit a drive-thru center to apply or update their application.
