Megan Viator lost her husband and best friend Justin Viator in a boating accident on May 12. Justin and his father had spent the day fishing when somehow the father lost control of the boat and hit a bridge pillar sending the two men into the water. Justin’s father survived the accident but Justin did not. Authorities found Justin’s body after an hour of searching and determined that his cause of death was drowning. Justin was not wearing a life vest. There is a possibility that Justin may have survived the wreck if he would have worn a life jacket. Megan believes that if there was a law in place forcing boaters to wear a safety vest, Justin would still be alive today. She is on a crusade to change the law.
