Vern Gosdin was born in Alabama in 1934. Music was around during his childhood. His mother played piano and from time to time, Vern Gosdin and his brothers would sing Gospel music during a live radio show. He looked up to The Louvin Brothers. In the 60s, Gosdin moved to California. While in California, he had some success. He retired and moved to Georgia and started a glass company in the 70s. He returned to music a few years later and landed a record deal.
