Let’s hop in our metaphorical time machine and take a trip down memory lane.

On June 24, 1960 Chris Knight was born in Slaughters, Kentucky. Knight was a singer-songwriter whos successful career included writing songs for many top bands and artists. Slaughter has had his songs recorded by the likes of Confederate Railroad, Randy Travis, and John Anderson among others.

On June 24, 1987 the US Country charts were being topped by Randy Travis’ song ‘Forever and Ever, Amen’. The song was written by Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz, and gave Randy Travis his third overall number one single. Success for ‘Forever and Ever, Amen’ would continue throughout the year as the song would win the Grammy for Best Country and Western Song and an Academy of Country Music award for Song of the Year. ‘Forever and Ever, Amen’ would stay at the number one spot on the chart for a total of three weeks.

On June 24, 2008 a very scary moment happened at the White River Amphitheater in Auburn, Washington during a Tim McGraw concert. While McGraw was performing ‘Indian Outlaw’ he noticed that a female fan was being attacked by a man near the front row of the crowd. Thinking quickly, McGraw reached down into the crowd and, with help from security, pulled the attacker up on stage. The man would then be removed from the concert. The incident was caught on camera by another fan and was later posted on YouTube.

On June 24, 2012 a 76 year old Glen Campbell was making an appearance at the Holly Bowl in Los Angeles, as part of his ‘Goodbye Tour’. Three of Campbell’s children were included in the live band on the tour as well. Ashley played on banjo, Shannon on guitar, and Cal played the drums. There was a tribute to Glen Campbell, before he would take the stage, from the opening acts. Opening for Campbell that night were Kris Kristofferson, Lucinda Williams, and Jackson Browne.
