Let’s hop in our metaphorical time machine and take a trip down memory lane.

On June 5, 1993 Country music legend Conway Twitty died from an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Twitty held the record for most #1 singles of any country act, with 45, until the year 2000. At the time of his death Conway Twitty was living in Hendersonville, Tennessee where he built a country music entertainment complex called ‘Twitty City’.

On June 5, 2007 the Country Album charts were being topped by Gretchen Wilson’s third album, ‘One of the Boys‘. The album featured three singles for Wilson that reached the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts: ‘Come to Bed’, ‘One of the Boys’, and ‘You Don’t Have to Go Home’.

On June 5, 2013 the US Postal Service released a limited-edition Forever stamp honoring Johnny Cash. The stamp featured a promotional picture of the man in black, that was taken around the release of Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash in 1963.
