Let’s hop in our metaphorical time machine and take a trip down memory lane.

On May 29, 1975 Freddy Fender was at #1 on the Country Album chart with ‘Before the Next Teardrop Falls‘. Fender’s album included hits like ‘Before the Next Teardrop Falls’ and ‘Wasted Days and Wasted Nights’. Both of those singles from Fender also reached #1 on the Country Singles chart.

On May 29, 1991 the top of the Country Album charts belonged to Garth Brooks with his third studio album ‘Ropin the Wind‘. The album that was on top the charts previously was ‘No Fences‘, also from Garth Brooks. ‘Ropin the Wind‘ would enjoy a combined 18 weeks at #1 on the charts.

On May 29, 2009 the #1 position on the Country Singles chart was held by Chris Young with his song ‘The Man I Want to Be’. The single was written by Brett James and Tim Nichols. The song was also the third single from Young’s second studio album, ‘The Man I Want to Be‘.
