So, what are you going to cook for supper tonight? I suggest burgers and fruit salad. It is the perfect combination.  And it is easy! Yay.

The best Fruit salad ever! I discovered this recipe years ago at a family barbecue get-together and have been making it ever since.  It is super easy and refreshing.

FRUIT SALAD

1 – can of fruit cocktail

1 – can of peaches

1 – can of pineapples

1 – jar of maraschino cherries, sliced

cut-up fresh strawberries, bananas and grapes

1 – can of sweetened condensed milk

Drain the cans of fruit and pour into a bowl.  Add the chopped up fruit.  Slice the cherries in half and add some of the maraschino cherry juice. (I add a lot. Because, yum, cherry juice.) Now add the can of condensed milk. Stir. Voila! Serve cold.

BURGERS

I have said this before and I must say it again. I am not a chef.  If and when I cook, I usually take the easy route.  This is probably the reason I love cooking burgers. It is so easy. Buy ground meat, shape into patties and cook. Now, I have read before, that if you want the burgers to come out juicy, do not over mix. Shape gently in patties and season right before you put on the grill.

Try out the ground beef meat at Heleaux’s Grocery and Specialty Meats. We love it.  It tastes fresh and is not full of fat.  Check out their Facebook page and read the comments.  I am not the only person who loves the ground meat at Heleaux’s.
