Yummy Dairy Queen Is Opening On Kaliste Saloom Rd

YES! One thing Lafayette is lacking is places to eat! Come’ on I’m just joking but we can always use another DQ in our life!

And then this got me thinking, where are the locations of Dairy Queen in Lafayette? And holy cow, the only DQ in the city is on Johnston Street. I remember back in the day the DQ on Moss Street. And while I was researching for this story, an associate told me her first job was at Dairy Queen at University and Pinhook. I do not remember that location.

There are other locations in Acadian including Rayne, Abbeville, and Crowley.

The construction site is at the corner of Quail Drive and Kaliste Saloon Rd near the entrance to River Ranch next to the Candlewood Inn Hotel. That is the future home of the DQ Blast.

Construction is moving at a frantic pace as it seems as though all of this took place in less than a week since I pass here every day but I may have just noticed it. They have a big banner announcing the locations and employment opportunities.

Let’s think about it, what is your favorite menu item at DQ? Could it be the big ice cream birthday cakes? The burgers are delicious along with the chili dogs. Face it, I don’t know of many places to get a really good chili dog. Then the ice cream novelties from ice cream cones with the famous curl to the shakes and malts and the ice cream Sundays.

I can already see the long lines at the newest and second Dairy Queen locations in Lafayette.  The projected opening is in January 2020.
