Country music has lost another legend.

Toby Keith, a talented musician, songwriter, and patriot passed away at the age of 62 after a long battle with stomach cancer.

Keith’s career spanned 20+ years where he had 52 Top 10 hits and 20 #1 songs according to Billboard. While he was a legend in the music world, he is also very well known for his philanthropic work.

As an avid patriot, Keith took several trips overseas to perform for our nation’s troops, partnering with USO. For his efforts, he was given the Spirit of the USO Award in 2014. In total, Keith visited 17 different countries and entertained hundreds of thousands of troops.

He’ll be deeply missed by country music fans all over the world and his hits will play throughout the day here on Acadiana’s Classic Country Mustang 107.1.
