The Mustang 1071 Online Roadshow is a mini-concert that happens every night on Facebook. Each night we hand over the controls of our Facebook page to a musician so they can put on a show for you. It’s a break in the quarantine monotony and a good cure for cabin fever. Be sure to log in and give Mustang 1071 a “like” so you do not miss this interactive show.
Tonight at 7:30 pm, Lafayette’s own Dustin Sonnier will take the virtual stage for an acoustic performance. Let him know what song you want to hear.
Dustin Sonnier is from Vatican, a small rural community just outside of Carencro. He grew up listening to George Jones, Keith Whitely, Ozzy Osborne, and the Marshall Tucker Band. According to Dustin’s bio page, his mother was a “rocker” and his father enjoyed classic country music. The exposure to both genre helped his unique sound. In high school, he realized he wanted to pursue music full-time and never looked back.
At the age of 13, Dustin joined a Christian Country Band. This gave him a chance to develop his singing ability and songwriter. From then on, he plays several different styles of music, including Zydecajun. Now, he is the frontman for his own band, The Wanted. He travels back and forth between Texas and Louisiana to play shows. His fan base continues to grow tremendously.
Join Dustin Sonnier tonight live on Mustang 1071’s Facebook page!
