Festival International Weekend Coming in Lafayette

It’s weekends like Festival International where friends and family from across the country remember just how great of a friend you are. It’s like Mardi Gras time. It’s these friends who moved away from Acadiana and want to come to spend time in Acadiana and they need a place to crash, and that would be your place.

I know many of you know exactly what I am talking about.  They started calling you about 2 weeks ago out of the blue just to catch up. After all, they don’t want it to seem as though they only call for a place to crash. You and I both know, that’s exactly what they want.

And why not, after checking places like Hotel.com, hotel rooms are pretty solid for the week going into the weekend. Although, going through the hotel availability for Thursday through Sunday and while some places are booked solid. You’ll also notice a premium price at some of the national chains.  Good luck trying to find something on Airbnb close to downtown because you won’t find that either.  Airbnb is stating 66% of their homes are already booked for the weekend.

The extended weather forecast for Festival is looking promising with s slight blemish and that would be for Wednesday night into Thursday where the NWS in Lake Charles is calling for 50% chance of rain Wednesday night and 80% for Thursday, but clearing into the night. Outside of this, the weekend looks great for Lafayette.

Festival starts Wednesday evening with Steve Riley and Keith Frank on stage.

Once your friends leave from enjoying the festival, you can look forward to their call again around Mardi Gras.
