The Lafayette Animal Shelter and Care Center is waiving adoption fees from May 1st through 15th. The spring “Empty the Shelters” event is in partnership with Dogtopia and the Bissell Foundation.
LASCC Director Shelly Delahoussaye told KATC the housing crisis, inflation, slowed adoption rates and a lot of pet surrenders have stressed shelters nationwide.
The Bissell Foundation will reimburse $50.00 for dog adoptions and $25.00 for cat adoptions. All pets will be spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped.
