The KDCG Les Bons Temps Rouler Music TV Show is returning to Pont Breaux’s Cajun Restaurant in Breaux Bridge this Thursday for another taping. This week’s featured band is the Pas Bons Playboys with special guest fiddler player, David Varnado.

Varnado is a Nashville session musician originally from Port Arthur, Texas with family roots in Cajun Country. He started playing the fiddle when he was five years old. His dad was his first teacher, then Rufus Thibodeaux, along with the famous Johnny Gimble.

Varnado made his first trip to Nashville when he was just 14 and later at the age of 16. Through the help of Jo-el Sonnier and Rufus Thibodeaux, David Varnado met many people in the music industry launching his career as a session musician. Since then, he has been touring with some of the greats such as Ty England, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Paycheck and many others. In 2017 Varnado was inducted in the Gulf Coast Music Hall of Fame.

David Varnado is friends with lots of Louisiana musicians including John Leger, the lead accordionist of the Pas Bon Playboys. Leger extended an invite to Varnado to appear on the show and we are honored to have him be part of the performance.
