Shrimp Festival Weekend Coming Up In Delcambre

I said this before and it is worth mentioning again, there is a list as long as my leg of the events I look forward to since my return to Acadiana. One of those events is the Delcambre Shrimp Festival which starts Wednesday, August 14th and continues through Sunday.

I remember starting my broadcasting career as a youngster,  one of the very first live broadcasts assignments I had was a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday broadcast from the Shrimp Festival Building for the annual celebration. Being from South Louisiana I felt right at home with the music, food, and festivities at the celebration along the canal. I would broadcast live from the event for the next 6 years.

The Delcambre Shrimp Festival will happen this weekend and from the information, we have from the festival committee it is obvious the celebration has grown to the point of having national acts performing. Saturday night Nashville Country star Craig Morgan will perform. Other acts include Krosfyre, Chris Ardoin, Ryan Foret and enjoy the music from a DJ playing music throughout the festival.

Let’s talk about FOOD! Shrimp just about any way you can enjoy it. Boiled, fried plus signature shrimp dishes like shrimp sauce piquante, shrimp salad and more.

I bet your mouth is watering.

Bring the family, the kids will enjoy the rides and games. Mom and dad will enjoy the music and the dance.

There is no gate fee on Wednesday and Thursday. See the complete schedule here.
