Patsy Cline was born in Winchester, Virginia on September 8, 1932. It is rumored that she started entertaining friends and neighbors as young as 3 years old. Her big break in the music industry came with her appearance on the Arthur Godrey Talent Program in 1957. She sang the song “Walkin’ After Midnight.” A year later, she performed at the Grand Ole Opry and quickly became a national star. Her career ended abruptly in 1963 when she died in a plane crash. Since her death, millions of her records have been sold. She is considered an icon of country music.
