You know, it’s true… you can put almost anything on rice! Gumbo, etouffee, stew, gravy… I could go on, but that’ll just make us hungry!
Bring your appetite to The Anything Over Rice Cookoff, taking place at Whittington Veterinary Clinic‘s Fall Festival in Abbeville this Saturday, October 19th! Teams will be preparing dishes on-site for the cookoff competition. For just $5 you can be a taste-tester and sample all of the rice dishes! All the proceeds made from the cookoff will benefit the Animal Aid for Vermilion Area (AAVA).
The event starts at 10:00 am and also features live music and entertainment for both kids and adults! For the “big kids” – Sheriff Mike Couvillion will be conducting a live auction, and Skip-N-Rias will have adult beverages. There is plenty of entertainment for the kids too – there will be a petting zoo, a photo booth, a fun jump, and a fire truck for the kids to explore.
If you are looking to add a warm fuzzy member to your family, they’ve got that too! They will have many dogs there looking for a loving home, and ready for adoption!
Here are the artists that will be performing at the event:
Al Roger and Louisiana Pride
The Bubba and Gen Experience
Layne Touchet and
Dustin Sonnier and the Wanted
