Kicking off the long Labor Day weekend marks the end of summer for some even though the season continues through Monday, September 23, 2019. Let’s not try to rush the end of summer just yet.

If you’re looking for some fun this weekend take the family to Pelican Park in Carencro for the Glow in The Cro hot air balloon festival. That answer the questions people have been asking. “What is all the hot air balloons in the area”. This a new festival for the area and will feature about 20 balloons.

The balloons will glow in the evening on Friday and Saturday and if you ever wanted to experience the sensation of riding in the basket, there will also be rides available for sale to the general public. If you would rather stay close to the ground you can purchase the tethered ride, be lifted about 3-40 feet in the air for about 5 minutes at a cost of between $20-$25.

If you’re feeling a bit daring you can purchase the full flight for about $250 per person. With the full-flight, you can experience a one to two-hour flight and of course, this depends on weather conditions. Keep in mind you must pre-register for the full flight and they will take place on in the morning on Saturday and Sunday.

The Glow in the Cro will also feature live music and fun for the family. If you’re looking for something different this weekend, check out the festival at Pelican Park.

Admission is $5 per person.

Additional information can be found on the Glow in the Cro website.
