The Best Burger In Louisiana

We celebrated National Hamburger Day this week and in honor of the day, we decided to search for the best hamburger in every state according to The Daily Meal.

The hamburger has evolved into somewhat of a delicacy. Back in the day, if you added cheese to your burger, that was special. Today’s burger can come with onion rings, mac, and cheese squeezed between the buns,  and there are even some restaurants who serve burgers patties between doughnuts in place of the burger buns and then you have the peanut butter and jelly added to your burger. I bet that leaves a lasting taste with your buds.

Since returning to Lafayette I have discovered a few places that do burgers justice. And some of these restaurants have focused on the bun. They make and bake their hamburger buns daily which is a delightful treat.

We turn to the Daily Meal food website for the rankings of the best burger in every state. If you’re wondering how these establishments landed on the list,  The Daily Meal asked a panel of noted writers, journalists, bloggers, and culinary authorities from across the country to place their votes. Then the DM searched through social media comments on various food and burger joints in every state to come up with the best burger.

In Louisiana, the best burger goes to Company Burger in New Orleans. According to The Daily Meal

Company Burger chef and owner Adam Biderman set out to create the perfect double cheeseburger, and one bite will tell you that he hit the nail right on the head. He starts with two 3.25-ounce patties, which are given a light crust on the flat-top before being loaded with red onion and high-quality American-style cheese and then stacked. A couple of pickle chips and a toasted white bread bun complete it. You’re left to your own devices at the expansive condiment bar, which includes Creole honey mustard (because Louisiana), basil mayo and pickled jalapeños.

That sounds like it would be worth the trip!
