Crime rates in Louisiana are above the national average, according to a report from Safewise. We have the nation’s 4th highest violent crime rate and 7th highest property crime rate. According to the survey, 66% 0f Louisiana residents worry about violent crime. 62% are concerned with property crime. Gun violence concerns 69%, and package theft is a concern for 65%. Concerns about hurricanes, and flooding are nearly double the national average.
With all that gloom, here are the Bayou State’s 10 safest cities…#1 Baker, #2 Jennings, #3 Rayne, #4 Harahan, #5 Broussard, #6 DeRidder, #7 Slidell, #8 Kenner, #9 Westwego, and # 10 Lake Charles. Lafayette didn’t make the cut.
