Let’s hop in our metaphorical time machine and take a trip down memory lane.
On June 3, 1972 The Opryland USA theme park opened in suburban Nashville, Tennessee. The park was a country music themed, and featured a large number of amusement park rides along with musical shows and performances. The park would later be called Opryland Themepark and was billed as the ‘Home of American Music’. Opryland Themepark was visited by nearly 2.5 million people annually before its closure on New Years Eve in 1997.
On June 3, 1990 both The Carter Family and Johnny Cash himself were inducted into the National Broadcasters Hall of Fame. The ceremony was held at the Berkley Carterette Hotel in Ashbury Park, New Jersey.
