The Service Chevrolet Cadillac Top Cop of the Week is Captain Zachary Gerard of the Broussard Police Department. Captain Gerard says the most rewards part of working in law enforcement is being able to help the community in so many different ways. Before becoming a cop, he worked as a paramedic. He wanted to expand how he serves the community.
According to the person who nominated him, Captain Gerard showed true leadership when he stepped up to the plate and kept the department running until an Interim Chief was named. He guided officers through the transition, handled daily duties, kept moral high, and also managed to keep residents in the community safe.
