The Service Chevrolet Cadillac Top Cop of the Week is Detective Ava Mouton of Breaux Bridge Police Department. Det. Mouton says she always wanted to help people and that’s why she started decided to become a member of law enforcement.
“I have been employed with the Breaux Bridge PD for 21 and half years. I started as a dispatcher for 2 years and then moved to detective as a secretary. I helped with cases and became involved on the outside. Then I realized, I wanted to further my career. In 2015 I completed the police academy and became a detective in 2016. While working here, I was a single mom of four children and had to work two other jobs to support them.”
Det. Mouton is dedicated to her job and passionate about helping people.
