Friday, August 30th will be a busy day for many in the Acadiana area. Not only is the Kiwanis Jamboree going on at Cajun Field, but country music star Chris Stapleton will kick off Labor Day weekend with his concert at the Cajundome.
With the expectations of a sell-out crowd for Friday’s concert, the Cajundome released some information about plans to handle the large influx of people.
Where to Park:
Friday night will have free parking available at Cajundome’s gate 8 and the Cajun Field gates 4 and 5. There will also be free parking by Blackham Coliseum with shuttle service in conjunction with “cabbage patch lots” with drop off at gate 8.
With the number of people headed to both Cajun Field and the Cajundome on Friday night, drop-offs and ride-sharing is highly encouraged and you can drop off people at either gate 12 or by the Cajun Field Pedestrian Tunnel.
Prohibited Items
Before you head over to the Cajundome, make sure to leave some things at home including weapons, bottles, recording devices, iPads, GoPros, and laser pointers.
New Entry Locations
Ahead of Friday night’s concert, the Cajundome will direct patrons to enter in the front canopy based on their ticket locations. Below is a photo of the new entryway plan.
