What’s Happening: Earth Day Preamble, Ride for Rescues and More

Saturday, April 15th

Earth Day Preamble is happening Downtown Lafayette at 537 Jefferson Street.  Meet new friends and pick up litter.

10-11am: Litter Pick-up Parade. Meet at the Biergarten and help us collect litter downtown before it finds its way into our rivers and oceans.
11am-3pm: Main event. Come on out and chat with folks from various local volunteer groups that are working hard to preserve our amazing natural resources for future generations. Learn what they do and how you can help. They’ll even have actions you can take TODAY to make Acadiana a little greener!
Earth Day is officially April 22. Come on out and learn ways YOU can help our mother earth today, tomorrow, and into the future!

The FoodNet Food Bank of Acadiana needs PROTEIN! Look through your kitchen cabinets and donate cans of tuna, peanut butter, dry beans, canned meat, chili, beef stew and beans in a can.  Donations may be dropped off in the FoodNet bins at Adrien’s Supermarket, Super 1 Foods – Amb. Caffery, Super 1 Foods – Willow St.,

Festival International is  giving away a Lagniappe Pass to every member of the largest team! Get a team together to run in the upcoming Festival International 5k and you and your friends could a chance in winning a Lagniappe Pass.  The team with the most people wins.  Don’t be afraid. Running is fun. And you can walk or skip if you must.  Consider joining with your school friends, church group or work colleagues. You can join a team at any time. Pull your friends off the couch and get moving!
What is a Lagniappe Pass? Affectionately referred to as the “bathroom pass” by locals, the Lagniappe Pass gets you access to clean, private rest stops and express beverage lines. Who doesn’t want to “festival” with a bit more comfort?
