For the last 3 summers I’ve been coaching my little boy’s T-Ball team at the local Rec League near our house. Earlier this week I received the e-mail with this summers team roster and a copy of the league rules. I was reading through the rules and was pleased to see that nothing much had changed from the previous years. In the league my son plays in we don’t keep score, everyone plays, and the kids are allowed to stay on base even if they’ve been put out. Considering this is only a T-Ball league I agree with the rules as they are laid out.
I did get to thinking about what others thought on this topic; and that led me here. So please, tell me your thoughts when it comes to how competitive a T-Ball league should be. I’m not asking if you think 4, 5, and 6 year-olds should get participation trophies or not, but I am asking what age you think kids should really begin to compete?
I think T-Ball is a bit to early, do you?
