The New Orleans Saints went on the road for the first time in the 2023 NFL season when they traveled to Southern California for joint practices with the Los Angeles Chargers in anticipation of their preseason matchup Sunday night at SoFi Stadium.

The Saints, off their last-second 26-24 win last Sunday, have had an impressive week of practice, seeing a lot of positives from Derek Carr, Chris Olave, Michael Thomas, and others.

However, a hurricane looming in the Eastern Pacific may keep the Black and Gold in Hollywood a little longer than they planned.

Hurricane Hilary, currently sitting off the western coast of Mexico, was elevated to a Category 4 hurricane Friday morning as it approaches the Baja Pennisula in the southernmost point of California.

However, the storm is supposed to weaken into a tropical storm before making landfall either Sunday night or Monday morning. If Hilary makes landfall as a tropical storm in California, it’ll be the first since 1939 (84 years).

The storm will bring major flooding to the Pacific Northwest, an area of the country that rarely has to deal with this type of natural disaster. According to NOAA, Los Angeles could see anywhere from moderate to high levels of excessive rainfall.

SoFi Stadium is an enclosed venue, so the only way the game would be canceled/postponed would be if the flooding begins sooner than expected and the roadways are unsafe to travel.
