On Saturday, July 20th the LSU football team got their first chance to look at the completed new Phillips-Bordelon Locker Room inside the renovated Football Operations Facility. The new Tigers locker room is unlike any other locker room in the world. It features custom-manufactured two-part lockers and combines the state of the art design with practical functionality to assist the Tigers on and off the playing field. The new locker room is said to have been engineered with one goal in mind: ‘To provide an all needs met, time-efficient space for the Tigers to prepare, rest and recover – as a team, and as individuals.’

Here are some of the initial thoughts from a player currently on the LSU roster.

Kary Vincent was heard shouting from his locker “Everybody at LSU is staying all four years now! Maybe even five or six! Nobody’s leaving!”

Junior JaCoby Stevens told the media that “There’s no point in going home… Why would I need to leave? I got everything I need right here.”

Breiden Fehoko added, “We walked in, and you know how you walk in on those charter flights we take? That’s literally the first thing that came to mind. You’re in first class. You walk in here, you don’t even think it’s a locker room. You just feel comfortable. This is a game-changer.”

The new LSU Football locker room was also designed with openness in mind. When you walk into the new locker room you will immediately notice that there are no closed off rows or lockers boxed in by walls. Instead, the room has wall to wall and corner to corner line of sight. This function was wanted for both aesthetic and functional purposes. No longer will LSU players be separated or boxed in by lockers; now all Tigers will be visually connected across the entire locker room.

Here is the announcement video of the new LSU locker room posted to the LSU Football Twitter account.
