After going through a 17-inning ordeal on Wednesday, it seemed like the LSU Tigers wanted to end their Friday night matchup a lot earlier. They did just that with a 12-2 win in seven innings over Mississippi State to send the Bulldogs packing.

How It Happened:

The Tigers broke open the ballgame in the top of the third with a five-run inning that was all jumpstarted by an RBI double from Brandt Broussard. The Bulldogs did chip away at the lead though in the bottom of the third with a pair of RBI singles from Tanner Allen and Dustin Skelton.

LSU stopped Mississippi State’s momentum dead in their tracks in the fourth inning with an impressive seven runs highlighted by a two-run single by Chris Reid. From that point on, LSU cruised to a run-rule win.

Big Number: 12

12 runs off of 12 hits is nothing short of impressive considering how hard it was for LSU to put up runs in their previous games in the SEC Tourney.

Player of the Game: Chris Reid

The Tigers professional hitter showed why he is that guy with two knocks, including that two-run double in the fourth. One of the many impressive performances at the dish for the Tigers on Friday night.

Next Up: Saturday vs Vanderbilt; First Pitch 3:30 pm
