The members of Alabama got together in 1969 initially performing under the name “Wild Country.” Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry, and Jeff Cook traveled all over the South. Wild Country took the stage at as many bars and clubs as possible. Eventually, the band changed its name to Alabama and was soon signed to RCA Records.
Alabama scored 27 number-one hit songs with several albums reaching multi-platinum status. Many consider Alabama one of the most successful bands in country music history.
