D.L. Menard, The Cajun Hank Williams, died today July 27, 2017 at age of 85. D.L. Menard was a Cajun Musician famous for his huge hit, “The Back Door.” This song is one of the most played songs on Cajun Radio. He stands out as a musician because his unique style of playing the guitar and tiny singing voice. D.L. grew up an only child on a farm in Erath. He picked up the guitar at the age of 16 and became quite talented very quickly. Soon, he was performing at dance halls on a regular basis. He loved the music of Hank Williams, Sr. He even had the chance met Hank Williams in 1951. Before his death, D.L. was very active in the community. He often performing at festivals and events.
