Want more from the company that wants to hire you?  You shouldn’t ask about all of these, especially during the interview. The best results are to ask about a few of these after they’ve offered you the job.

  1. Ask about working from home sometimes: This usually depends on the job. You can avoid the commute and save money even if it’s just one day of the week.
  2. Inquire about a signing bonus: A recent survey found 76% of companies involved with consulting, finance, I.T. and manufacturing will sometimes offer a signing bonus when you join the company.
  3. Ask about a flexible work schedule: Especially if you have kids. Some companies will allow you to come in early and leave early so you can navigate family life more easily.
  4. Ask about additional vacation days: Something to consider especially if the company won’t budge while negotiating money. Extra vacation days are a lot easier for H.R. to approve.
