All the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns needed to do on Tuesday night was win in order to keep their postseason alive and they did just that, making the most of their opportunities in a 6-2 win over Appalachian State.
How It Happened:
The Cajuns got on the board in the bottom of the first with Hayden Cantrelle scoring off of a throwing error by the Mountaineers shortstop. Hunter Kasuls kept things going in the second with a sac fly that got Brennan Breaux across.
Appalachian State responded in the top of the fifth with Robbie Young scoring on a passed ball and Luke Drumheller following that up with an RBI single to knot things up at two runs apiece.
The Cajuns took back control of the ballgame with Kasuls continuing his hot streak with a two-run double down the right field line, making it 4-2. Hayden Cantrelle helped put the finishing touches on Tuesday’s game with RBI double of his own in the bottom of the eighth. Cantrelle made it across home plate later in the inning off of an error by the centerfielder.
Big Number: 2
The Mountaineers two errors really proved to be costly with each coming at different points in the ballgame.
Player of the Game: Hunter Kasuls
Kasuls was a huge part of the Cajuns offensive explosion last weekend against UL Monroe and continued that hot streak against the Mountaineers with three RBIs on the evening.
