Cajun Sno on Johnston
Snow Cones.
The perfect Louisiana treat. In Acadiana, there are snow cones stands on almost every block. Of course, some snow cones are better than others. Some too icy, and some not enough syrup. We all have our favorites. My favorite place is Cajun Sno on Johnson street. I don’t even live near Cajun Sno but it is the only place we go to get icy snacks. It is a tiny lavender building just off of Rena Drive near Don’s Seafood. I recommend walking up to counter instead of going through the drive-thru. It is faster and you have more time to look at the menu.
First of all, it is low-priced! Very low! I have visited other ice-cream shops in the Lafayette area and it can get expensive. For example, at other shops, one ice-cream will cost anywhere from $5-10. If you have two kids and they bring friends, it can get pricey. Cajun Sno’s treats average $2 depending on the size ordered. I order the small polar punch stuffed snow cones topped with sweetened condensed milk and it is huge. My son usually has to finish it for me.
Not only are Cajun Sno’s treats cheaply priced but tastes delicious. The ice is finely shaved and they put plenty of syrup. Cajun Sno’s offers a wide variety of snacks from chili pies, chili dogs, scoops of Blue Bell. I love this place. And of course, this is why Cajun Sno is being featured on this week’s edition of Lundi Love. Now, if there is a place or product in Louisiana that you think should be featured, let us know.
