MMM: Reasons why you should never wear shoes inside
More and more Americans are choosing to take their shoes off before stepping foot inside their home. Something most Asian and now European countries have been doing for a long time and there’s good reasons to do so.
- It’s cleaner: The less dirt you track in, the less you have to clean.
- Those shoes can be covered in bacteria: A recent study at the University of Arizona found TONS bacteria on people’s shoes, including E. coli and meningitis.
- They’re also covered in toxins: Like pesticides and herbicides especially if you just walked through the yard and through a garden.
- It damages your carpet. Walking on a carpet with shoes on can damage carpets a lot faster than if you we’re walking in socks or bare feet.
- It’s just better for your feet. For a lot of people, walking around without shoes on can make your arches stronger.
And it can also relieve stress, because taking your shoes off when you get home subconsciously tells you it’s time to relax!
