Being stuck at home for the past few months has definitely changed people. It changed me! It has made some of us rediscover our love of cooking and trying new recipes. Lots of us are spending more time outside, developing new hobbies, gardening, and exercising. Lately, in my neighborhood, I have been seeing more kids playing outside. The other day I saw a group of kids playing kickball in the street. The 90s are back!!
Now that most cities are reopening, we can finally enjoy some of our old favorite activities, like going out to eat in a sit-down restaurant and possibly heading to the theater to watch a new movie on the big screen. Or not? According to a new survey, people may not rush out the theaters just yet.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the world basically shutdown. Everything fun was closed and unless you were essential, you were probably at home. Hollywood still had lots of movies to release to the public. So they decided to allow audiences to watch movies from home for a set price for a certain amount of time.
Apparently, people liked being able to watch a new release from the comfort of their own sofa.
According to new research, if given a choice to watch a new movie at home or at the cinema, 70 percent of people prefer to stay home and only 13 percent are willing to go to the theater. Even though the CDC and most local governments have stated that if the proper precautions are taken, it is safe to watch a movie in a public place, most people in this survey are not quite ready.
