Every year at Halloween, stores are lined with bags of candy ready for people to stock up for when the little ones go trick or treating.
But what candies are the ultimate must-haves for October 31st? Because let’s be honest, we all keep some for ourselves or swipe some from the kiddos.
These are my Halloween favorites:
Reeses
The chocolate peanut butter combo will always be #1 for me. But there’s something about the Halloween version and the Easter version that are superior to all the rest. If I could have Reese’s Pumpkins and Eggs year round, I might turn into a Reese’s.
Hershey’s
You can never go wrong with a classic. Just a basic chocolate bar can really be one of the best candies in a Halloween bowl. Even if you get the Cookies n Cream or Hershey’s with almonds, that’s still a win. You can save the dark chocolate ones for the next kid though.
M&Ms
Another classic. The fun-size bags were one of the best things to give because as a kid, you felt like it was a big bag. The peanut M&Ms are good, but when it comes to Halloween, give me the original or the minis.
(If you give the mini tubes at Halloween, you’re a saint).
Lemonheads
Louisiana really likes Lemonheads for Halloween. I saw a study earlier this week about the best Halloween candies in every state and the Pelican State’s was Lemonheads. Lemonheads are a good choice because they last a while with a really good flavor. I prefer chocolate candies, but Lemonheads are a strong choice.
Happy Halloween everyone!
