When will the rain stop?

During this point of the summer, we typically see those short but strong daily thunderstorms.

However, over the last few days, the rain events have been heavy and long, like in Scott on Saturday, when 8 inches fell in a 3-hour time frame. Mayor Jan-Scott Richard called it a 500-year rain event.

So the question now as we face flooding and overgrowing lawns is: when will it stop?

According to the forecast, not anytime soon.

The lowest rain chance in the daily forecast between today (July 24) and August 7 is 24% on July 31 and August 1. 10 of the days feature a rain chance above 50%.

Be safe when traveling on wet roads, and be weather aware in case a need for sandbags or other materials arises.
