Have you ever stayed in an Airbnb before? I always thought it was a little strange, staying on someone else’s home while they’re away. Airbnb is not necessarily the first thought that comes to my mind when planning a vacation because of this. But what if you’re tired of the usual hotels/motels, and want something a little different?
There is one Airbnb listing in Albuquerque, New Mexico that I’d LOVE to stay in… because of the house. It’s the house that was used in the show Breaking Bad Season 5, Episode 3, where Walter and Jesse turn a house that’s being fumigated… into a meth lab! It’s also just 15-30 minutes away from some other cool Breaking Bad locations, including Walter White’s home.
The Airbnb hosts have decorated the place to make it more “Breaking Bad” themed, complete with hazmat suits and Vamanos Pest uniforms to dress up in and re-enact scenes from the show if you’re feeling adventurous… The house is $259 a night and sleeps up to 16 people. It’s listed on AirBnB as “Breaking Bad House 5.3.”
This listing got me thinking… if I can rent this cool place for about the same as a Saturday night at a nice New Orleans hotel… That itself could be a vacation! Now I wonder what other famous locations can be rented? Considering how busy our lives are, with too much work and not enough time off… a day-cation at one of these places could be something fun, different, and affordable to do on my next free weekend. And it’s not just houses that you can rent. You can find almost anything! Condos, apartments, castles, houseboats, tree houses, barns, mansions, and even caves are rent-able on Airbnb. Haven’t you always wanted your own mansion? Affordable? No. But short term rental? Maybe! Renting an unconventional place to stay gives you the opportunity to live a fantasy life, even if for just a night.
