Eric Church is taking strong action to ensure his fans come first. He is again standing up to scalpers in light of recent on-sales for his back-to-back intimate engagements at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Upon their normal review of the orders for the two nights, Eric and his team discovered that a total of 2,700 tickets were purchased by known scalpers, including more than 750 tickets purchased by a Texas-based scalper ring, all of which were cancelled.
Eric said, “I do want to add a quick word about the scalpers. I have never seen more relentless, nefarious and frankly disgusting efforts to defraud the fans and the general public. Six words for you thugs: You Will Not Win. I Will.”
Eric began his crusade against scalpers in 2014. Eric explains why this is so important to him.
“As everybody knows, I’ve always been very adamant against scalpers. I feel like the people that should end up with the tickets, the best tickets, the best seats are the fans, are the ones who’ve been there since the beginning, and they shouldn’t have to pay five-times face value to get the ticket. So, we’re gonna do a couple of things without getting too specific right now, and we’ll be able to, again, keep scalpers as best we can, at bay. They have better technology and they have a lot of will to get these tickets, and it’s difficult, it’s a difficult challenge. But we’re doing everything we can to make sure the fans that ends up near the stage with us, which is what we want. So, there’s going to be a number of things we do, but it’s very, very important to me.”
Eric will play shows at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre on August 9th and 10th. He said, “I get asked all the time about my favorite venue, and I always answer the same way. Red Rocks. When people ask why, I just smile and say, ‘you must not have been there.’ It’s truly breathtaking. I’m honored to have two shows there.”
